Notification Preferences
Effective communication is the lifeblood of a coordinated response to security incidents. The CVD Portal offers granular Notification Preferences, allowing users to tailor how and when they receive alerts regarding vulnerability updates, SLA deadlines, and compliance requirements. Proper configuration ensures that critical signals cut through the noise, a necessity for maintaining the rapid response times mandated by the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).
Users can customize notifications based on their specific roles and responsibilities. A Triage Coordinator might opt for immediate email and SMS alerts for newly submitted critical reports, while a Compliance Officer might prefer a daily summary digest of SLA performance. The portal supports multiple notification channels, including email, in-app alerts, and integrations with enterprise communication tools like Slack or Microsoft Teams.
Administrators can also define mandatory organizational notification policies, ensuring that specific alerts-such as impending Article 14 reporting deadlines-cannot be ignored or disabled. This flexibility ensures that the right people have the right information at the right time, facilitating a coordinated and efficient vulnerability management process.
Deadline guidance emails
Separate from operational alerts, admins can opt in to occasional obligation-guidance emails about the CRA deadlines, for example a heads-up as 11 September 2026 approaches. This is explicit opt-in only.
The opt-in is offered at sign-up, on the registration page, and it applies whichever sign-up method is used, email and password or Google and GitHub. The checkbox is never pre-ticked. Admins who did not opt in at sign-up see a one-time prompt in the dashboard, where the opt-in can be granted with one click. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link that withdraws consent immediately.
